What's the going rate for black tangs nowadays?

Black tangs go for anywhere from 500 to 900?

That Gem tang...Beautiful fish! But, I don't think I could buy one at that price. I'd be too afraid of it getting ich and dying. I wouldn't be able to stomach that kind of loss. Maybe someday they'll start exporting more of these and we'll see them at more reasonable prices? (I'd consider one if it were around the 800-1000 range!). Wishing:)

Incorrect. You might be referring to gem tangs but black tangs are $600-$800 retail in socal.

There was just a bug influx of Judi black tangs they were 350-400 on the east coast. Now that they have moved through I am sure the price will go back up.

I got one for 375 shipped a few months ago due to the big influx that mnat noted. Depending on where you get them from they can be around that price.

One of the stores had one for 350 about 3 months ago. I wish I would have picked it up, definitely regretting it.

Wow, purple tangs go for that sort of price around me. $300-$400!
I wish I could find something as fancy as a black tang for a decent price.....maybe one day.
Awesome fish by the way POTO!
