Hey guys-

I have a project that I have to have done that deals with genealogy. Any idea where a good place to start on this would be?I'm looking for information tracing back to when my family first migrated.

I looked at ancestry.com, but it's billed be $239.00 for the trial, and I'm looking for something that is more helpful.

Any other places people would recommend?

Thanks,
Austin

I did the Ancestry thing, they must have raised their prices, I think when I did it it was like $30. I also found quite a lot through a religious group, I wanna say it was the Mormons but I can't remember for sure. From what I was told and found they have the most complete recordings of ancestry in the world.

yeah, the Mormons have got an impressive collection of records. Agoogle search on it should yield fruitful.

I think family tree software runs about $60, it gives a 30 day free trial for the online part. Then it only runs $30 or so a month. I was able to trace some of mine back to the 2nd century. You can usually get all you need from the online part in a couple months.

I use family tree maker for my DB. Findagrave dot com is helpful; rootsweb dot com; World connect; Genforum;
