Is it norma to have cloudy water after using general cure?

Dosed it around noon, by 10 pm it looks like a bacteria bloom.

Always thought one of the advantage of general cure over prazipro was no bloom.

What was the dosage used and did you add directly into the QT? I've never experienced cloudy water when using GC and wouldn't say its normal but I know others have experienced this in past typically when combining medications. Bacteria bloom isn't bad on the fish except for the depletion of oxygen so make sure the surface area is highly agitated.

1 packet of it and slightly part of a second. About 12 gallons of water in the 20 long. I mixed it up in a shaker bottle and poured it in

You’re supposed to add directly to the aquarium. Shaking it up first in the bottle and then adding it most likely caused this issue to occur.

Oh, well reading how the prazi powder it in doesn’t mix well, I mixed it in basically 8 ounces of Ro water for 2-3 minutes and poured in.

12 noon hits the 24 hour mark of praziquantel, i can do a small water change

i'll second this notion
  • i'm at the end of QT duration,
  • had completely torn down my tank and cleaned it out,
  • 100% water change,
  • let it ride for a couple of days with carbon in the filter,
  • then pulled the carbon
  • added 1 packet of GC directly to my 10gal tank
that was 2 days ago and my water is completely cloudy AGAIN like it was when i was trying to do Prazipro last week. i switched to General Cure because it's not supposed to have the oxidizing agent in it that causes bacterial blooms.

i do have good surface water agitation — filter water falls into tank; powerhead pointed upward w/ venturi hose attached (although the venturi works intermittently for whatever reason).
