Hey guy, iv been getting toobmany mixed reviews on keepong dr. Wrasse. Iv seen many keeping it alive and many cant. The ones keeping it alive suggest feeding them frozen and hikari marine s. But im still confused. Would it stay alive on pellets and frozen, and live a full life or do they need parasites on fish? Some of the hobbyists have a hard time getting them to eat.

Would like to hear from hobbyists who have had success keeping them alive and in a perfect health for long time.

Cleaner wrasses can be difficult and are not for every tank. Not all cleaner wrasses will accept prepared foods, getting one to live. But I have found they do best in tanks of 150+ with a lot of fish.

Parasites are not an important part of it's dietary needs, rather the slime coat of other fish is of greater significance.

Cleaner wrasses can help in a limited degree for parasite control, but there are better options. Neon gobies and cleaner shrimp are easier to care biological controls. QT is a far better option for disease control.

I wanted it as it looks beautiful, but if the care is very diff, then i might skip it. However howmany fish per dr wrasse is necessary?

It varies based on the size and species of the client fish. But I would say at least 10, preferably more.
