So I recently switched tanks over from a split red sea reefer (yay me), to a FW 70G rimless - its been running a few weeks now, with no cycle.

I had just set up the reefer when it split, and I lost a bunch of fish, prior to that I was running a 20g for over a year. It was stable but as I was focused on the RS, I neglected it, GHA is rampant and cyano has shown back up.

So now that the 70 has been running long enough, I will be moving everything over this weekend. I have been dosing AFR to both tanks to ensure the parameters are as close as possible to each other.

The 20 is running a HOB, Aquaclear UV and Black Box light. 2x sicce nano wavemakers

The 70 is running, Fluval 404 canister full of rock rubble and bio rings, Vevor 660gph Canister with sponge and 10w UVC. Just picked up a Reef octopus classic 1000. For flow it is running both canisters, a Hygger Gyre, a Jebao 30, and for lighting running 3x Hydra 32's - I have a BRS reactor to plumb in, as well as the HOB from the 20 that I will convert to a HOB refugium with a Kessil grow light.

Livestock is as follows;

2x Perc Clowns (mated pair that cant stop laying)
1x Blue Tang
1x Cinnamon Clown
1x Blue/Yellow Damsel (ordered as a royal gramma, this is what I got LOL)
1x Firefish
Tonnes of snails
Emerald crabs
RBTA that is now 3 RBTA

I recently bought the three big Hanna Checkers, so I will be much more inclined to be testing as its much easier now.
For bacteria, I add 2 TBSP of Lifesource mud weekly, and MAN that stuff has been a god send, I am a believer lol! I swear it kept my dinos at bay until I stopped in my 20g.

Corals wise -
Multiple zoas/palys
lots of mushrooms
GSP
Kenya tree
Devils Hand Leathers
A couple Acros (cant remember what theyre called)
2 Hammers
Chalice
Cypastrea
and a bunch of others I don't remember the name of -

So this time I think I'm really going to focus on water quality, now that I have adequate filtration, I have adequate lighting and proper testing gear. I will stock the tank slowly with fish.

I have done this for the last 2.5 yrs and have had moderate success. If you've got this far, what do you recommend for additional equipment/livestock that I can use to help keep things stable?

I think the pair of clowns is enough clowns. The 3rd might cause a lot of fighting until one dies.

Nothing right now, but the massive amount of GHA i have in my 20, is a pain. Going to deal with that and let it run its course, hoping the 3x water volume helps lol

Are you sure you are only 55 years old?

UPDATE

Tanks been running a little over a month - have started carbon dosing with Tropic Marin NPBB and AFR also dosing NeoNitro to keep my nitrates around 10-11 ish.

Hair Algae has come back but nothing unmanageable.

Have determined that my tank is destined to be an Ich Management tank as my Blue Tang got it within 2 weeks of being in the tank, but has been the only one to get it. Added a 2 Spot Bristle Tooth, it hasnt shown signs of it yet.

I am happy with how its going, starting to grow again, will be adding some more corals etc.

I have phosphate around .2, have dropped it to 0.14, but cant get it below that. 15 g water changes weekly and no change - turns out my fresh SW is 0.14 P04.

I will be switching salt mixes to TM Pro once this bucket is empty.
