I'm trying to figure out why all of a sudden all the rose BTA's I put in my tank 2 weeks ago are staying deflated. The guy I got them from was running them under LED's at a higher power than I am so I dont think it's a lighting thing. Before this weekend, they were always out and huge. I put GFO in last thursday (yes I rinsed it very well), and on Friday all day just the rose BTA's have been deflating like crazy, brown "poo" always coming out of their mouths. Mouths arent gaping except for when they deflate and do the "poo" thing. They stayed that way through Sunday so I removed all GFO, put fresh carbon in and did a water change. Today (Monday) they're looking sort of better but no where near the size they were. Some are still randomly deflating and releasing the brown stuff.
What is wierd is that I have around 15 other BTA's of different colors and they're just normal and huge as always.
I did feed the nems on gfo Thursday as well. I'm hoping the food wasnt bad. But the other nems had some of the same food and are perfect.
Tested water today and everything came back normal. Po4 is a little high but it always has been. Thats why I put the GFO in.
How they were the first 2 weeks I had them in my tank.
