Hi everyone have some questions.. I was battling high phospahtes for sometime.. at one point was at .34.. tried water changes but nothing was budging my nitrates were at 5-12 on nyos.. I added phosguard and got it to .22 in which it stayed there for about a month to so, then decided was time to get a gfo reactor which I bought the aquamaxx fr-se with two little fishes media.. used the dosage that was stated on the jar got it down in 24hrs to .04..

My worry is should I turn it off so it doesnt get my phosphates to 0 or have it run and test tomorrow morning to see if a change? Corals are good

As long as your corals are fine I'd let it run. I keep my PO4 at 0.02 and run GFO 24/7. I also feed very heavy as I like my fish good and plump just like me :D

Watch your alkalinity carefully. Gfo drops my alk for about 5 days, and I need to increase my carx output to keep things stable.

That's odd I've never had that happen and I test my Alk daily and dose 1500 ml Kalk and 36 ML each of ESV B-Ionic 2 part dosed daily.

Really? Happens every time for me. Drop in a new batch of GFO, and I need to increase my carx 20% and taper down over 5 days to get back to baseline.

I’m doing an experiment now where I am running a gfo reactor in a bucket of tank water for a few days and will transfer the media afterwards and see if I can avoid this issue.

I wonder if it's product spicific as I use ESV 2 part, BRS Kalk, and BRS HC GFO and have never had any change up or down.
