Thank you for asking! Unfortunately the clam died 2 years ago this month. IMO the hinge finally succumbed to its immense weight. It is now a succulent planter in my office.

In the hinge image you can see where the clam was trying to regrow again. But the constant movement prevented this from happening. I us a 14" squamosa shell to cover it because it bothers me to look at its cause of death....After all it was with me for 14+ years.
