Giant Insane-O thinks it a water balloon!

I had to get a few quick shots of this.

I have been feeding this thing pretty regularly and and every few days it puffs up like this. Not being an LPS aficionado yet I am still amused by this:nerd:

Acros just don't do funny stuff like these things:lol:

Nice! I had one do that before, it only did it once though and I was like holy cow look at that thing! I did get a pic of it inflated but it's buried in Photobucket somewhere.

If you've been feeding it regularly it does not surprise me that it puffs up like that. Feeding LPS and watching them get all puffed up and happy is one of the only things I miss since tearing down my old 75 gallon mixed reef and setting up my current all SPS reef. Wouldn't trade the SPS back in for it though.

Nice looking plate BTW.

usually they puff up like that so they can move. They will use that puffed up part like a sail and with enough current it will move them

That actually makes a lot of sense. they seem pretty mobile when they are all puffed up. that one had moved itself almost all the way under the rack on the first pic.

The two other plates in the pic move all over the place.

Funny little things

Reminds me of a funny acting welso I have in my office tank. It balloons up almost every time I feed Larrys Reef Frenzy. One time after a direct feeding and a perfect sync with the MP40s it started floating across the sand bed. It was neat but scary...I dont direct feed it anymore :D

That is funny, but you're right very scary.
