Gigantic pods

So I was looking in my sump the other day, and I noticed a pod that had to be 1/4" long. Dude was huge!
Tonight I saw a handful of giant guys.
I assume this is a good thing....
Does this indicate a big population?
That's what I've been told locally...

Can you post pics? If 1/4” then you’re likely looking at amphipods or potentially Isopods. In general the former are the good guys, the latter can go both ways.

Those are amphipods, I collect them by the thousands and throw them in. Very good find.
