I am going to dose again to alert, make sure it can drop so safe in 2 days or less. Then monitor nitrites until they are 0. Then I’ll be adding my black angler, his name is Dave.

Right on. Will Dave be the sole inhabitant?

He is a dwarf angler so he may get a dwarf angler friend but that’s only if I can find a) a very neat one and b) same size as him to prevent one eating the other. Otherwise it will just be my electric blue hermit and corals.

Awesome stocking selection. Are anglers hard to keep?

I don’t think so, it’s just two things to remember a) you really need to keep them on live food b) a lot of people will say, it was doing fine and then just died one day with no warning.

I find them fascinating little dudes.

Alright so I got my 80/20 design quote. Came in at $2K+shipping. Apparently this company I found in Cali isn’t so much cheaper.

I have heard limited things about tnutz.com anyone used them before or have any first hand reviews?

That sounds crazy expensive. Maybe the IM stand isn't a bad deal lol.

Little green still this AM but I got my MP10 in there. I tried to create the standing wave, but without any coral it was tough to see.

I'm running an MP10 on my 30L too. Seems to be enough flow for softies and lps.

Are you going to have your ammonia tested again soon?

I’ll be adding my second MP10 when I take the other system down. But I agree, one would be enough for low to medium flow.

It’s already turning yellowish as of this afternoon. I’ll likely test it Wednesday along with nitrites.

Alright, update on the stand. I am going to do the exact same design, but build it out of wood.

I’ll be redoing the cad in the coming week to reflect this. I thought about it long and hard and the best I’ll be able to do with 80/20 is $1200. I’d much rather use that one other things and just make the stand out of wood. Because of how lite the lift up cover is, I am just going to use drawer slides for this.

It’s a bummer but maybe in the future I’ll build an 80/20 stand.

Got the water tested today 0 aminos 0 nitrites 80 ppm Nitrates. Looks like the cycle is over. I did a 7.5-8 gallon water change(approx 30%). I am in the process of acclimating a jawbreaker I just received in the mail. Will likely add a set of zoas and my blue/teal mushroom. See where that takes it. If all is looking good over the weekend, I’ll move my angler over.

Also - I put in and turned on my new midsize IM DC skimmer. I’ll keep everyone updated on how it works.

Moving a few corals in. Got my new JB in. I’ve never had one before, but dang is it bright.

Putting in my canary (Duncan), kryptonite candy canes, and Halle berry zoas.

I also got my lights hooked up to my apex (had been running sun up sun down with moon lights but only at 5% max. I am running the SPS Reefer 425xl scheme. It has a max of 60% middle of the day. I am guessing this is going to be way to high for this setup, but we will see.
