Well I'm at it again. This isn't for the dream.

This bottle is a Hennessey.

Dawn dishshoap does a great job of removing the sticky residue. (If you really want to know how I learned just ask)

1000 grit sand paper does a great job removing the shiny finish of glass and for the final step. You can see the sanded glass vs non sanded glass in the pic

Well the Hennessey bottle broke into a lot of little pieces. I'm going to go with a cognac bottle.

if you’re looking for a way to just remove the bottom portion of a bottle, put a small piece of chipped glass in the bottle and swirl it around the inside bottom (this will weaken the glass strength, basically it creates a defect).
Then tap the end of the bottle on something hard; the lower promotion of the bottle should break off fairly easy, without shattering the remaining part of the bottle.

I used to work for a glass container manufacturer, this was a quick and easy way to look at the glass wall thickness of liquor/wine bottles.

Thanks for the tip. Do you have a easy way to break the sides? I like holes through the sides.

Here are my two favorites. I’m gonna be putting coral on them in a while.I have more but I’ve gotta scrub lettering off the beer growler and I’ll sink those behind the rockwork so they won’t make the tank look overcrowded with bottles

Hey, I noticed your zoa and aptaisia, Im dealing with this now, Im wondering if messing with it (Kalk paste or that Mahano wand) is doing more harm than just letting the aptaisia stay there, the question is , does the zoa keep going or does the aptaisia kill it?

A tip is to fill bottle with water than break. It helps to keep the peices bigger.
