Hi all,

About 7-10 days ago I was gluing some frags. One of my filefish clearly confused some soft, white glue with a snail and bit i to it. Now a gob of glue has been stuck to his upper tooth for a week or so. He seems otherwise healthy. Too fast for me to catch him (probably a good sign?). Color appears to be good. He does NOT seem to be catching free-floating mysis however - he tries but misses. I hope he is still getting some some food from foraging on the bottom. Has this ever happened to anyone? If so did it work out okay? Should I keep trying to catch him?

Thank you in advance. Pic and video below.

Wow! That is a big glob. I would be afraid if you try to remove it, you may do him more damage than letting him sort it out for himself. It appears that he's trying hard enough to eat, and I suspect he's getting something. Not sure what to tell you, but I think I would give it some time.

Thanks yes that was my original thought. 200g with lots of places to hide... if he gets slow enough for me to catch him I will take that as a bad sign. Originally I felt like it was on his skin/scales and would come off... clearly it is on his tooth though :(

will keep you guys posted?

Yes please. I'd really like to know how things progress. Cheering for him.

Okay so 2+ weeks, and the glue is still stuck, and he seems to be doing fine. Just took this... seems to be keeping weight and color. Active swimmer. Manages to get mysis out of the water column every day at feeding time.
Who knows?
At some point should I try and catch him??
