Hello Reef 2Reef. This is my first build thread here. I have been in the hobby for about 2 years now, and have gone through the "natural progression of upgrades". I started with a 29 Biocube, then got a cheap 60 gallon off of craigslist, then I built a 40 gallon from scratch. Now I have this amazing (at least I think so) 120 gallon tank. I'll kinda take you through the highlights as I don't want to bore you with the details.

My DIY sump and filter sock holder I made from a 40 breeder:

The crazy transfer night (by myself). Things always don't go as planned. What a crazy night. :( I lost one fish that night. But bright side is 13 lived.

Thanks for looking!

Hey y'all its been a long time coming...the update. I haven't posted since the new tank was up and running on Feb 2016. So here's a little update:

* Had a local reefer friend build me the canopy, and in the process I added two Coral + bulbs and I believe they have made a huge difference.
* Had a cyano breakout, but got it under control with Chemi - I think its coming from feeding twice a day (man my wife loves this deal) She loves to see the fish go crazy.
* I've also added quite a few frags of SPS - thanks to some cool local guys that give me deals I can't refuse.
* I've got four new fish: clown tang, yellow coris, Christmas wrasse and a pudding wife wrasse. I really love these fish, except for the pudding wrasse...he is always on the hunt and flips things over looking for things to eat. I added a bunch of pods the other day. I hope he stops flipping my stuff.
* I've run skimmerless for a few weeks due to the Chemi driving my skimmer crazy, but I really think it helped the health of my tank. SPS are starting to encrust and shows signs of life. YEAH!

Enjoy some pics:
(Sorry for crappy cell pics)

Time for a pic update. I really need to be better at this. So many things have happened. Lost all my fish to velvet. Going fallow through November and will be setting up a permanent fish and coral qts. I can't go through this emotionally or financially again.
