Hello all, from Michigan! I had a 75g reef tank for 5 years, but that was about 15 years ago.. I haven't been in the hobby since, so I'll be a bit scratchy.

But now I have my own place where I can finally do what I want, when I want - not including money lol

Over the next year, I would like to build a custom tank for my house. I joined this site in hopes that I can get some help and advice along the way, as I've never built a tank from scratch, and I want it done the right way, so I can enjoy the aquarium for years to come.

When I started a few years ago now I spent a lot of time watching the BRS video's on building a system, reading posts here and watching equipment reviews. From there I designed my system. You may also want to track when things go on sale and create a Bill of Materials with links to each piece of equipment you hope to buy.
