Hello Friends. When I moved I decided to take down my big tank and after a few months I wanted to get back into the hobby so I got a Red Sea max nano. I went with it because the all in one aspect was just an easy choice. It looks slick in my office at home. I’m making this thread to help out other newer reefers so I’ll try to spell out what I’m doing and not use acronyms to help those out. Hope you guys/gals like thread on my build.
I set it up with some live sand and some dry rock and cycled with the lights off for a month. After it tested good for a week I took my so. To my local fish store and he picked out his favorite spooky fish.
I got a couple frags of some Green Star Polyps and some zoas. They came right out so I figured it’s time to add some more. I took off the ATO that came with it and put my old Apex ATO in stand alone to keep that water up. I just cut a hole in the lid of a water jug to hold the water.
I was on the forum Monday morning and saw the Tidal Gardens R2R sale. I decided it was time to go all in. After an awesome 5 hours I or a whole bunch of awesome frags. I’ll say that I wish I pulled the trigger on some more 10$ frags earlier in the action but you live and learn. If you haven’t checked out Tidal Gardens go do it now. Once the frags acclimate I’ll add pictures.
