Well I don’t think I’ll get quite done today just because all of the different steps of painting and drying but here’s a couple pictures. I almost forgot the viewing windows for water level and filter but got them in there just in time. I might also switch rocks eventually to a smaller/lower one

Still need to customize a few things and build my nightstands but I had to see how it fit and it’s perfect! Really need to find a quieter mini pump so I can sleep next to it lol

This with how how you did the tank yourself too is amazing! I have no talent in this area. I will have to buy a Pico already done when I decide to set one up. If you lived in my area I’d pay you to build me one. :p

Yeah it’s just crackle paint. I’ve gotten better over the years with using it. Patience is key(hence the crown royal) lol

Do you put a clear coat on after the crackle paint? It seems like that stuff might be prone to flaking off.

It’s never flaked of before on anything I’ve done, once it completely dries it’s pretty stuck on there but yes I used a polyurethane (since it’s around water)that I wasn’t happy with because it has a yellow tint once it dried

To be clear I only clear coated it for easier clean up but you don’t need to, it won’t peel. It’s basically like 3 coats of latex paint

Honestly I basically just copied the Biocube filtration design to come up with mine so don’t give me to much credit, and never underestimate yourself because you can do anything you put your mind to. Also if you wanted I could draw up plans and send them to you for any size tank if you tell me dimensions. Then just cut and screw/pin. I would be happy to help ya
