This depends on what you keep in your reef. Won't eat your shrimp, snails, or crabs but after a while mine started nipping at my clam and acans. This also varies fish by fish.

It's 'safer' with sps. LPS, zoas, and clams are less safe.

I owned one for about two weeks before i had to get rid of it. Nipped my SPS to death.

I've had luck with Regal Angels. Looking to replace my Juvi emperor Angel with a Bandit angel. The emperor is destroying several SPS colonies. Love him but it's time for him to go.Daily he's breaking off chunks so big I've made several SPS frags that continue to thrive. Since I have so many recovering frags I can't even give them away

We have a goldflake (1.5 years), blueface (2.5 years), regal (2.5 years), flame (3.5 years) angel as well as a moorish idol (1.5 years) in an SPS dominant reef. No issues with SPS, euphylia or leathers but the few zoas we had in the tank disappeared in the first few months. I would not advise in a mixed reef (or you will end up with SPS dominant :-). We have another tank that is a mixed reef that has only reef safe fish in it but my wife loves the angels & MI so we designed this tank around the fish in terms of coral inhabitants.

I had a regal in my LPS tank some time ago and he loved those expensive scoly and plate corals.
