Does anyone know the popular name for this Goni? It was sold as “black mamba” by the LFS but I don't see any other examples with that name when I gooogle. It kind of looks like the SBB Blood Lotus Goni but not exact.

Very similar but not quite the same. The centers on this one are a pinkish-purple . I checked SBB’s site because they have so many awesome ones but I can’t find an exact match.

A better pic of the centers

The closest one I’ve found is the WWC Cosmos Goniopira. It’s still not an exact match. There’s more of a fade from purple to yellow/gold in the stalks on the one I have.

Trade names are kinda pointless for Goni so you can't really assign a name too it unless you purchased it from a specific vendor with a specific name.

Good point. I’m more interested to see what a grown out colony looks like but I guess I’ll just have to be patient.

I wish I could give you a proper name but I like the colors of it!

Hey I have this same Goni that I got from Reefco and never got the name of it. 10 months later I ran into Reefco at Aquashella over the weekend. And it’s called Mamba. 🫡 Pull it up on TSA website
