Goniopora extension

Any goniopora experts here can answer what factor(s) into how long goniopora extends its polyps?
I have had this goni for a couple years always been puffy with long extension, it is also regularly hosted by a pair if my mocha storm clowns (despite having bta in the tank). Some days it has decent extension and some days it is all shriveled up. I also have a couple others and there are days they have good extension when this one doesn’t, and vise versa.
So what is the mystry ingredience to cause them puff and extend? Is it flow? Feeding? Lighting? Others?

Clowns can "love" some corals to death

I have some flowerpots that are really fluffy; others less so. If you can lure the clowns aware to an anemone long term that could certainly help.

I have moved the goni in question to a separate, clownless tank now. Fingers crossed it will get a bit more fluff soon
