Good fish for frag tank?

What are some of the better fish to keep in a frag tank? For a good candidate it needs to be relatively low cost and obviously coral safe. My frag tank is 30" long and a foot wide. I need something to knock the worm and pod population down because they are very unsightly. It is bare bottom with a white egg crate rack that is three inches tall. I was thinking about a sixline, but wondering what else will work.

If you are looking for a smaller zooplanktivore, that will be the only specimen in the tank, the lined wrasses (Genus: Psuedocheilinus) may be a good option. Here's a link with more info on them: Pseudocheilinus

+1 on the wrasses. Maybe a small algae eater like a lawnmower blenny.

The problem with wrasses are expense and compatibility.
Damsels, believe it or not, are a great frag tank fish. Cheap, hardy and good against pests.

I've got eight or so blue devils, 2 yellow damsels, and 3 chromis in my larger (90gal) frag system.
( along with a lawnmower blenny, 2 yellow tangs 1 powder blue and a six-line wrasse)

Everyone is going to have there opinon as to what fish do the best job in a frag system. All the above are very good examples of fish that work well in a frag tank. I have a sixline wrasse and a kole tang in my frag system to help keep the algea and pest under control.

yellow coris wrasse would work well, or pretty much any small wrasse

Remember many of the wrasses need sand. I see you plan to keep it barebottom.

I guess it will be a sixline, I have a yellow coris wrasse in my display but can not put one in the frag tank because there is no sand. I've had a sixline before but got rid of it due to it's evil temperament towards other wrasses. This guy will be flying solo though with a pair of clowns.

I'm gonna but a kole in mine for algae...one key question I did not see asked is how big of a tank?

The tank is 36"x12"x12" not sure on exact depth. Tangs are out of the question due to size of the tank. Algae isn't my issue, I have a lot of various worms and pods in there. The worms and pods are not pests, they are just unsightly (I don't like looking at them). I was thinking about a sixline but was just wondering if there was something else out there.

LFS can not get a sixline at the moment but can get a four/twelve and an eight line. Which of these is better, they are similar in price.

you can also try a banggai cardinal fish.. i heard they eat pods and such.. plus they are relatively cheap.. imo

I have a tomini tang, random damsels and a frogfish in my frag tank. The frogfish is just for fun but the rest do really well and cleaning up. I feed pretty heavy for the Lps and they take care of the rest. And the frogfish eats the damsels before they get big and mean
