I need to find a heatsink I just bought diy leds for my tank. I have a 6 ft tank and was wondering if two 2ft heatsinks would work to cover the ank. Would put 6inches on the outside and a foot between the two heatsinks. If not i need some good ideas and a cheap place to get the heatsinks themselves.

I would go with 4 20" heat sinks. A good place is rapidled.com find their "as-is" heat sinks!!! They come practitioner brand new!!! Maybe a bent fun or a light scratch and that's it!
Or try heatsinkusa.com
Good luck! ;-
