Good morning everyone!!!!

I left last Friday to head to Florida for a cruise. Left out on Monday and sailed from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau Bahamas. We are still on the ship but are prepared to head out to the island where my oldest son and I will be snorkeling some of their reefs. Cannot wait.

The coolest part is that my Apex has not skipped a beat. Live in NC and It is so cool that I can monitor and control my tank from the Bahamas. I have 3 live cameras set up on the tank and sump equipment. I had an alert saturday while I was at Disney that my ATO stopped after its 10 min shut off. After looking at the cameras and adjusting some settings it has been working flawlessly. Hope everything continues to work as planned and I still come home to a thriving tank.

Yep, automation is awesome (when it works)! I’m curious what, if any, fail-safe or redundancy that you have built in to your control system?

Don't forget that we’d love to see pictures of the trip! :)

I'm jealous. Enjoy!

Will you be spending any time on the islands? I imagine it would not be a typical vacation experience this close after Dorian went through.

That's awesome! I love that you can monitor everything with an apex without even being in the country. I will have to get one for my next build. Enjoy the trip!

I have two 1080p cameras on the display tank. One of them is hardwired on a network recorder and the other is Wifi. So if one system goes out I have a backup camera. The other two are hardwired on my network recorder in my fish room monitoring my Sump, fuge, etc.

I have two Apex systems. One Apex 2016 that is hardwired into my network with backup wifi monitoring my system from the fish room. I have an Apex classic hardwired into my network and monitoring my Display tank. If one goes out then I can monitor the other system.

I top off with kalkwasser. I usually do 5 gallon buckets at a time with one aqualifter for top off. I made 30 gallons of top off and have two aqualifter on separate outlets on separate energy bars. This way if one pump goes out I have a backup pump.

For sure I will post some pictures. My son and I had snorkeling today but as soon as I jumped in the water they called us out because of a big storm. I got to see some corals for a second.. :-(. We are going to CocoCay tomorrow so I should be able to spend all day on the reefs. Looking forward to it!

Yes. We just spent the day today on Nassau and will be going to Cococay tomorrow. Nassau looked fine and they didnt take any substantial damage.

Hope that is a double shot of espresso lol. If not then I need to step my game up. Yes all was well. No major storms. I got rained out of both of my snorkeling trips :-(. We are about to leave the ship then head straight to Disney.

Sorry about the snorkeling, but it looks like you are in a beautiful place! Enjoy!

Hard to believe they’re running business as normal.

We just went down to check the island out this week. Marsh looks like a garbage dump, completely evacuated, bodies stacked on the runway like logs.
