Anyone have suggestions for a good place online to buy coral frags?

After rebuilding from the great squareback anthias death tank crash of 2017, im ready to start getting corals back in the mix.

Im thinking of starting with some zoas. Are they the easiest to start with?

In my opinion, yes zoas are the easiest. Cherry, Jason Fox, WWC, AquaSD, and CaliKid are good sources but from my experience, they tend to be very pricey. My favorite method is buying from other local reefers so I can make some friends, see the frags for myself, and look at some neat tanks! Duncan, zoas, green star polyps, and xenia are the absolute easiest in my opinion and having a variety helps you figure out some things about similar corals before spending a whole bunch of money on a hammer or torch or sps. Scolys and BTAs IMO aren’t very hard either but they (also IMO) need frequent feedings to do very well but if you already have fish then giving some of the frozen fish food to those two and the Duncan as well aren’t very difficult to do and watching them eat is a lot of fun!

No such thing as too much coral. Haha
If you get a chance check out Pacific East Aquaculture. Really good quality stuff, good prices, and about the best customer service there is.

By the way. Pacific East’s pictures are not photoshopped or super enhanced lighting. I’ve gotten about 15 pieces from them, all spot on exact to the picture.

To be real i'm pretty value oriented and a lot of times shipping kills my budget. I found a local joint to me called CoralCollectors and they do live sales on saturdays, at least the last 3-4 saturdays and within that time i've loaded my tank while doing local pickup in Ventura. But they also have free shipping if your order is like $250 or something

@AquaSD is my go to! But there are plenty of great vendors online.

As far as the zoas being the easiest, I have NOT found that to be the case. I struggle keeping nitrates and phosphates up, so that's probably my problem.

Stylos require high light levels and strong flow in my experience, different from zoas' requirements. I'd skip the stylos, at least for now. Many other easy corals such as blastos, acans, etc.

We have a fantastic local place. She has the most amazing display tanks, but everyone around here calls her the fish-****. She wont sell to you unless you have a 250 gallon or higher tank.

She says "its impossible to have a functioning tank at lower than 110 gallons and she wont subject her children to that stress"

Thats an exact quote. And im not big on getting coral from petco (the only other saltwater place nearby)

Got my order in today!

Everything from Aquasd looked great.

The even had an extra one in there labeled "Freebie" so that was cool

After Acclimation they are now in their new home. They are all starting to open up so they must be happy.

Anyone have advice for best feeding for what I ordered above?
