Gorilla Love?

I’m really trying to not resort to a series of interceptor treatments. There would be way too much collateral damage to the inverts I couldn’t get out. I have a very very healthy number of inverts. So, counting this weekend, I am at least 25 Gorilla crabs evicted/killed and two very large stone crabs captured and removed. I still have about 1/2 dozen Gorillas that I can regularly find in their caves. I picked off two this weekend. So, here is where I need help please:

To my surprise I saw a gorilla crab hanging out on a colony of candy canes. But, all of a sudden it is like its lower shell unhinged and it was flapping it into the flow. Then, thousands of little dots floated away. Tank was in the late stages of blue so I couldn’t get a shot. But please please don’t tell me he just released the devil spawn(s) in my tank? Please tell me there are no reported cases of gorilla crabs reproducing…

Oh my. Well, I'd say it's possible but not probable. Just because fish like eggs and as they circulate through the water column, the pumps are gonna have their way with them. And if any hatch they'll move around, get noticed and predation shall occur. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If some survive and grow to an undesirable size, well, you've got experience in catching them!
