Wonder if we could do it in 3g?
Most likely. They don't swim much. They stay perched and will go back and forth on different perches. They don't eat much. Prob only fish I would consider for such a small tank

@hllb if you are having a hard time with your little guy feeding. I would recommend this to try. Omega One Color Micro Pellets. they are really small.

They really like perching on things. I would recommend something that he can perch on. They are usually found on sps. Branching leathers are a suitable substitute. Just what I observed
I have the perfect coral skeleton in my DT. He hasn’t had interest in perching on the rock in my QT.

Prob because its not like sitting on a beach

Edit we would all love to be on a beach. But he likes branches at his beach.

I have found leaving the powerhead on gets a much better feeding response from the little fish too.

Do the leathers mind him there?

Nope. They may close up around it but always reopen. No harm has ever been observed.

They only damage will occur if you have a bonded pair. They will lay eggs on the braches. That will kill that part of the coral. It's only a small spot and the coral should recover.

I don't have a pair.

I don’t have any in my tank...yet lol. If he tried to perch in my Duncan it would probably never open again.
It will. They are a delicate animal and are not rough on the coral.

Thought I’d give an update. Both fish are doing well. The goby is still shy but moving all over the tank now and eating. He still doesn’t eat aggressively but if something comes near him he grabs it. He is getting more active when he grabs the food.

Mine doesn't either. Being so small not much food is needed. That's a good thing. My yellow clown goby gets right in the middle it.

Another update, 3 weeks in. Both fish are doing great. The green clown goby is now an aggressive eater and chases the food down! Once he nearly took it out of my fingers. Planning to move them into DT soon.
