Green mandarin

I woke up turned my lights on and my mandarin was white

When my lights come on my mandarin is covered with sand dust.

Mine always slept in a layer of whitish mucus. The scooter I have now sleeps under the sand.

Mandarins like many other fish are very peaceful. Mandarins put out a mucous membrane at night for protection, typically you can still see the fishes pattern but the color is very dull, if it's new to your system it might not be use to when your tank turns on hence seeing the white in the morning on your mandarin.
