do corals need a down time, or can i leave the lights on 24hrs. i have a coral only tank, with zoas and acans and some favia, can i leave the lights on 24hrs or do they need a couple hrs with no light?

Yes,They need time to not be in light,so they can feed.It would be a very bad thing to leave your lights on 24/7 or 24 hours.

Depending on your lighting, I'd say you would want the corals only lit for 5-10 hours.

24hr lighting will bleach/kill/stress out all corals.

If I recall, corals add to their skeleton when the lights are off, so 24/7 lighting would be a bad thing.

ok what about leaving my stunner led blue on all night long, bad idea or not? it looks sweet and i like to roll over during the night and stare at it
