Growth or regression

Hi All

I have a hollywood stunner that I have had for a couple of weeks - tentacles always seem fairly active but I noticed some white around the edges and cannot tell if this is growth or regression

I have included 3 photos it is along the edges facing up on right side……..

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated to help understand what I may need to do (if anything)

Looks like damage. Any other corals near that would sting? What about fish or crabs. Not growth...

Nothing anywhere near it… no fish, no crabs
It is an empty tank with some mushrooms way down below ( not anywhere near)

I may have bought it from the LFS this way but did not pay attention- I shoold just watch and see if that fills in ? Or gets worse?

It is not under super bright light … I can move lower if light is an issue but I would be surprised if it is that -

That chalice grows like crazy. Leave it where it is. Don't touch or move it. Just give it time. It will heal, quicker than others....

Flesh recession, test your parameters and make sure its not getting too much flow or light.

Can you define too much light - this is a 10 gallon tank - I have an AI coral Grow light on it and it is only at about 15% ………

At the top i have the digita, which seems to be doing fine ( i believe they like higher light) I have the Raja which i got yesterday and it actually started to heal a flesh wound in the middle and the mushrooms at the bottom….

The flow is an AC 70 hob that seems to work - as noted this coral may have been purchased this way but I wanted to confirm to keep an eye on it now that I am aware…..

I don’t have a PAR meter but would be surprised if I am at even 150-200 at the top just in guessing….

I can move it down to the rock above the mushroom to the left but I worry that may not be enough light or flow

How long have you had the coral and did you put it on the rocks as soon as you got it?
Its typically best to put new coral on a frag rack or on the sandbed in an area with lower light and flow to let them acclimate to the new tank for a week or two. Otherwise you risk the combination of adjusting to new water parameters and new light and flow being too much for a new coral.
I would continue to monitor it for now and take a picture every day, if you see more recession I would move it to a more neutral spot like I mentioned before.
