I've got a small GSP frag from my LFS a couple weeks ago. I put it on the back wall of my 13.5 and it did well for 2 weeks. Came out everyday. I did a water change last Saturday which required me taking the light off of it for roughly 30 minutes or so. It closed up and hasn't came back out. The water in the tank at the time of the water change was 8dkh alk, and the water I replaced it with (2 gallons) was 9dkh. The next day I brushed it with a tooth brush to remove some hair algae it had on it thinking it was preventing it from opening. It hasn't opened since. The colony itself is starting to look a little rough with a gray/brownish spot in the middle. The rest is bright purple.

Nitrates are ~2-5ppm
pH 7.9
Alk 9dkh

Any ideas?

I personally don’t buy gsp on frag plugs because they are always so small and barely open up. Just leave it and wait for it to open up. Gsp is very hardy and hard to kill
