Got some green star polyp with a couple small holes and one or two of the polyps seem to have missing parts of arms. Any ideas? Also identification of this cheap paly would be helpful. I did have a nitrate spike, could that have caused it?

Nothing kills GSP. Don't let it within 5" of any main structure.

Looks like GSP and palys. Give them a couple of days to a week and you wont be able to slow them down. That GSP should take over the tank in a couple of months.

That's kind of what I thought, the guy at the shop just gave me a piece of it. It's on an island in the sand but what do you suggest for keeping it off? Also can palytoxin get in the water column?
