My GSP has been closed for a few days now and I have no clue at all why. My pulsing Xenia is doing great but I can't figure out why my GSP has not opened up. I went to bed and it was open and when I woke up it was closed and I been watching it for a few days and it has not opened back up for about 3 days now. My question is What are the tell tale signs of a GSP that is dieing or dead. I don't believe it to be either of them but I juse want to be sure I can check them off my list.

I can't grow GSP in my tank. It won't die, but it doesn't open or grow. I guess my water is too clean.

Is it possible that something is crawling on it? GSP is usually very hardy. Other possibilities are to much flow and or light. Too could be water parameters. Have you tested lately and if so what are your readings?

I have mine at the top of the tank with medium flow and they're fine. Sometimes they do close for no apparent reason though. Hope you figure it out.

Mine have closed at times for days as well and what I found when the lights have been in their lowest setting is that one of my fish was being pretty hard on them. Got rid of the fish and the star polyps reopened. Just a thought ... may not be your problem, but just a thought.
