Gulf rock arrived, but looks mostly dead. Any opinions?

Here's a follow up shot from today. I tore off all the large bi-valves and cleaned up a good bit of dead macro. I decided to leave a large empty clam shell attached as it was occupied, which I found hilarious.

I am not sure why you got live rock. Why would you pay extra for living things only to rip them away?

It's dead algae and 4 large bi-valves that were too big for the scape. I still need space to mount coral. Plus my clowns are stupid and I know one of them would end up inside of it. Still plenty of biodiversity left.
