But no I'm doing black or olive. And leaning towards olive

If you ever want to hunt with it, the silver is going to be easy to spot. If your ever in a bad spot ad have to protect your self and you are hiding trying not to use the weapon, light hits it your done for. If you are just going to use is for shooting on the weekends plinking and having fun it will not matter. Those guns are made to use not look at.

I'd go black. I've got a Ruger AR15. I'd go black as well. As for .223 gun shooting 5.56 typically not recommended as the 5.56 is a higher pressure round. But a 5.56 gun can shoot .223.

Fwiw: This is accurate and shooting 5.56 through a barrel not marked for it is a bad idea. Definitely go with black if it's your first AR. They call it "black rifle disease" for a reason. You can also always get another upper in nickel if you need to match your evening gown in the future.

I think nickel, silver, chrome guns are sissy. Black is easier to clean. Also once scratched its gonna be black.

Before buying thos you should read up on rock river ar 15s. Just my

well I appreciate your input on nickle plating being sissy lol. So I went to the store and looked at the black one and also looked at the matte knickle plated one. I still have no clue what one im going to get. probably nickle to make everyone mad :tongue:

I really like the olive, but would probably get black. Silver is out of the question. Are you getting a 16" barrel?

I cant find it anywhere! and POF plus almost all other M4 companies are not taking special orders at the moment.

I know where I can get a black one and a NP3 (nickel) but I still have no clue what to do!

get the black one. if you decide you really have to have the nickel look, send it to robar for the np3 coating.

Ha honestly the thing I don't like on the black one is the red and white they have marked for safe and fire. I want that to be black. What could I fill those in with?

Either or IMHO!!

Nickel boron looks great against black when the accessories are the same color....It can also add a sense of camo to the gun too!!

I just started a MATEN .308 build..Glad to know there are some other assault rifle enthusiasts here!!
