Hello Reefers. Looking for help identifying hair algae in my tank. I have been fighting it for 3+ months with manual removal. I would consider if somewhat difficult to pull off rocks.

I am considering fluconazole if it is bryopsis. If it is regular GHA then my plan is to continue fighting with manual removal and correcting parameters. I know fluconazole can kill GHA too, but I will have to correct parameters regardless if thats the case. (Even though my nutrients aren’t crazy elevated anyways, so not completely sure about that). PO4 is usually around 0.06 and Nitrates around 15-20. (Hannah checkers)

Here are some pictures. Some of the pictures are after manual removal.

Thanks in advance.

Look at a piece after you pull it out if it is shaped like a fern leaf then it is bryopsis and fluconazole will work. If not gha, increase your cuc and add a tuxedo urchin. You will still need to manually remove to keep it short for your cuc to finish the job. If you have high nutrients increase the amount and frequency of your water changes.
