Lol: 14"Interesting, wonder if reef safe? Do I dare ask how big they get?![]()
Thanks for the reply, I’ve been going crazy researching what kind it is but there are so many similarities in juveniles. I’ll guess I’ll just have to wait to see as he matures ha!Looking at the crescent shaped tail, its not a Halichoeres species.
I would say a Thalassoma species. Not sure which.
Edit: after some googling, my best guess Thalassoma bifasciatum. Younger specimens can be very variable in coloration.
Thanks for the insight. It’s in a 4 foot tank at the moment but I’m planning on upgrading in a year (working on convincing the wife). As for snails and crabs I already have a Valentini that is very into eating any invert I try to put in here so nothing newThat is a female (initial phase) Bluehead wrasse, Thalassoma bifasciatum.
They're very active fish and can reach about 5" when/if it transitions to male, which are the ones with the blue heads, so they need a 5 or 6 foot tank. It will eat any snails or shrimp and may be aggressive with smaller wrasses.
