Stupid halide newby question: does 250 watt Radium fit in same socket as 400 watt Radium. I want to buy reflectors that were being used with 400 watt halide bulb and use it with 250 watt Radium and 250 watt ballast. Will 250 work in 400 watt socket?

Yes. But you need a ballast for the appropriate wattage.

ok. thanks. I wanted to buy some Lumenarc reflectors that were being used with 400 watt Radiums, but my ballasts and bulbs are 250 watts. I've never touched a 400 watt before so not sure if I can use the same sockets. Thanks again.

All the bulbs have the same size ends, they will all fit into each other sockets.
