Hammer heads getting skinnier?

I have a green hammer that seems fine - tentacles fully out, but for some reason it looks like his “hammers” at the tips are getting smaller and less full? He also isn’t quite as green as he once was, getting more purple/green now.

Parameters all in check. Any ideas? My guess is not getting enough light in his new corner - nitrates are in the 30’s so I dont think its lack of nutrients.

and here he is back in March - he was maybe getting more light in this spot, I’ve since moved him to the opposite corner since this is where my torch garden is now:

I have two colonies (a head and a regular coloiny that I split off) and the single head has skinner polyps. It recieves more follow and a higher par level than the parent colony. Not sure if this is why, but I don't think its something to be concerned with.

As for the color change, that is something that can occur in tanks. Dana Riddle has a neat macna video on the topic.

Okay cool - yeah it may just be normal. He used to not come out as fully so that might play into why it looks different visually.
