Hammer Melting?

I recently picked up a hammer and when I dipped it I realized it kinda shrunk in and when I put it in my tank it hasn't gotten any bigger. Is there a solution or is it dead?

Got any pics? They usually shrink and get angry but give em a day or two and they should recover. What did you dip it in and for how long?

i dipped it in koralmd it says its a coral dip i would say like 15 mins

Like the other person said, give it a day or two, assuming you followed the instructions correctly, it’s probably just unhappy, and will open up over the course of the next couple of days, maybe even sooner.

Make sure your water parameters are good. I will tell you, as long as you see some fluorescence, it should be fine. Seven years ago, when I was just starting out, I made the mistake of dipping my first hammer in FRESH WATER!! :eek:10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! It burned and melted away to almost nothing. But I still saw some fluorescence, so I let it be and hoped for the best. I kept it on the sand bed for about a week, then placed it halfway up the rockwork. Amazingly, it regenerated and recovered over the course of just 1 week and I took pictures of its daily progress. Here are the photos:
