i need everyone's pros cons re:hang on back protein skimmers

The only pro is no need for a sump. Only con I have is it's visible.

They work great and yeah are cost efficient and convenient but it really ruins the look of a clean tank with a bunch of skim mate sticking out of the top of the tank.

Ran a BH-1000 for 2yrs. My light sat on my tank rim via 4" legs, skimmer wasn't totally visible. Keeping the cup clean helps [emoji2]

I used an Eshopps PSK-100 for about 2 years. Skimmer worked great but the microbubbles it put in the tank were annoying.
