I just bought 2 new bottles of reagent from BRS. So 2 days ago I opened a new bottle and Alk was now testing at 11 dKH. Panic set in at first and then it just seemed something was off. Now way alk raised that fast. I drew another sample of reagent to test again and noticed small clumps in the fluid. Opened the second bottle and alk was reading at 7. I really think you need a backup tester and can't take these test results as exact sometimes.

Picked up the Hanna DKH and phosphate checker from BRS. Was using Salifert for DKH which was ok but from what I've read I think I'll be much more satisfied with a precise reading.

The Salifert changing color seemed inconsistent.

I use Salifert and find one can quickly test and obtain results. The color changes are distinct and easy to detect.

I use Hana, Salifert,iDip and Red Sea kits. I like to keep up on all of them so when I have a club member with a problem using one of the test kits I can help them under stand how to do the test properly.I also like to cross check test's thou its not always easy from kit to kit.

I use both Hanna and Salifert. The salifert reads lower than the Hanna but both are consistent with themselves. Salifert in my tank runs 7.7 and Hanna 8.1 dkh

I started with Red Sea, but wasn't sure about the color change so I stopped using it and switched to Salifert. I used Salifert for a while until I got the Hanna and have been using that because I can run the test in under 5 minutes. I test with Hanna but have the Salifert as a back up in case I have doubts about the a Hanna results.
