I am having a major diatom and pineapple sponge outbreak on a tank too old for silica to be coming from sand, rocks etc. and am having trouble figuring out where all the silica is coming from. I started using some new "ceramic" plugs around the same time. Has anyone had an issues with with new plugs and silica / diatoms?
