Hi All!

I'll be using this as my tank build thread. This is my first SW tank ever. I have a friend who will be helping me with the build and I will be documenting everything with pictures throughout the process.

Tank will be an SCA 75 Gallon (originally ordered a 66 gallon cube, but they called and asked if I would mind being upgraded to a 75 gallon!) Will be using the stock equipment coming with the tank for now, but will likely upgrade in the future.

Going to be FOWLR originally but intentions to add some corals later on.

Let me know if you have any questions about my plan or suggestions. Brand new to this so I'll be happy for any help!

Thanks :)

:) What are your livestock plans?
Awesome question lol still iffy on that. What I know i'd like is this:
Fish:
-Clown pair (1 Black Ocellaris and 1 Orange Ocellaris)
-Fairy Wrasse
-Watchman Goby w. Shrimp
-Midas Blenny
-Flame Angel
-Foxface (big maybe on that one right now)

CUC:
-Brittle Star
-Some Trochus snails
-1 or 2 cleaner shrimp (still looking into these)
-Conch (also looking into these)

The rest is still up in the air and honestly this list might change as the tank is being set up haha

So yesterday was a busy day! I was able to place the stand and tank in the basement. It actually went in a different spot than originally intended. Just decided it looked better there when bringing everything in. Cleaned everything and hopefully will be getting the tank plumbed tomorrow.I want to get the live rock, sand, and water in tomorrow too after the plumbing is finished if I can. If not then that will happen on Thursday.

Anyways, check out my tank!

Nice. Same with me ordered a 66 gallon but they changed it to 75 gallon I think there was an issue with the 66 gallon stand and sump not fitting. Mine arrived yesterday, may plumb this weekend. I'm interested to see your progress as I'm right behind you.

We even got the same stand.

Glad to see someone with a similar set up! I was able to get mine plumbed and rock sand and water in on Wednesday. Haven’t had a chance to post pics but I will get on that today. Just letting things settle in for a bit before while I do more research etc before I move on to anything else

Also! I did have to go to home depot for some extra pvc for the plumbing. Nothing crazy and my friend and I were able to work around it. But it was something that had to be done to get the system going.

So I have some more pictures! This was from Wednesday night, getting water etc into the tank:

We did not fill past the overflow because we still needed some equipment for the sump, but wwe are able to keep everything wet and warm and moving with 2 wave pumps and 2 heaters.

This was Thursday night, after getting the sump situated (will get pics today). Moved heaters below and set up the ATO. Right now I am ghost feeding and testing to make sure the live rock didn't have too much die off. As of now, no ammonia, no nitrites and less than 5 ppm nitrates. Will let things settle for a few more days as I am still researching the fish I want to get anyways.
