Hi everyone

I'm shopping for the last few bits for my new 300L system.
This is my first system with a sump.

I'm struggling to physically fit a heater in the sump. As I need to heat 300L, all heaters that can do it are super long.
I have the red sea reefer sump and the main chamber would be big enough for a long heater but i have a skimmer taking up half of that.

I feel like I'm misunderstanding something here!

I was considering 2x smaller heaters so they would be physically smaller but even these would be a real tight squeeze.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Especially if a couple of people with a red sea 300XL could advise what they are using on their system.

Thanks for the help
Jamie

Most titanium heathers such as JBJ or finnex are a little shorter.

Checkout Innovative Marine new Helio heaters. I run their 400 watt (2 200 watt) heater on my RSR 425XL. They are much smaller than typical heater elements and fit perfectly in the sump. They also keep temps spot on to where you set them.

I have a Red Sea Reefer 250. I could not fit a heater in my sump. I put a Cobalt Neo Therm 300 on the back glass next to the over flow box. Its black, matches back glass and thin. Works well.
