Hello…. Long time fan and reader, first time reefer. Have been fascinated with the hobby and all that comes with it for years, just never jumped in, until now! Looking forward to learning and experiencing it from the other side.
Trying to take my time and set it up right the first time out of the gate… I tend to enjoy the research and am more of a long term planner vs jump in blind and quickly replace.
That said, the spot in the house is ready, the tank is in place… here’s what I have so far and here’s what I’m in the process of planning before I start filling ‘er up. I’m planning fish and LPS to start, will see what SPS the tank can handle as I get into it.
IM 100G Ext
39G Sump (RFS-39)
MightyJet XL return
2 x MP40s
2 x Radion XR15 Pros G4
2 x 35G Containers for Mixing Station (still designing in basement directly below tank, will likely run lines up directly through the wall)
PanWorld pump for mixing station (NH-50PX)
Shopping:
Skimmer (Octo Regal 150 high on the list)
Controller (leaning GHL) - want to start with AWC and ATO. We’re on a septic and would like to be able to do small consistent water changes for safety in the septic.
Live Rock - have some old rock that was once in someone’s tank, but considering a fresh start.
As I type this out I’m thinking I’ll cut over and start a build thread, but again Hello and looking forward to jumping into the hobby and this forum!
