Help! Chip in new tank!

So I just got my new Waterbox tank and got it sat on the stand and noticed a chip in the top back pane. I know they don’t cover claims once it has left the pallet so I think I’m stuck with it.

I’ve emailed them and waiting to hear back. What is everyone’s thoughts on this tank?

You can see it from the front but looking down through the edge, it looks like it doesn’t even go half way through the pane.

My thoughts are that it is structurally sound. However, if able to I would exchange just because I think it’s going to bother you in the future

Yeah, I have a feeling they won’t exchange it because they are pretty clear that it has to be reported before it leaves the pallet.

Luckily it’s on the back glass. I think with a lid and once coralline starts growing you might not notice as much.

Yeah I think if it’s structurally ok, you won’t really see it where it’s at.

Did waterbox ever reach back out to you? I’m in the same boat right now…..my 190.5 arrived damaged and didn’t realize until it was on the stand

They replied and said as long as it’s not near the seams, it shouldn’t be an issue but they asked for more pictures to have their team look at just to be more thorough. I haven’t heard back on that yet but I figured I wouldn’t since it’s the weekend.

Mr. Sprung's living room tank has a chip like that and its lasted a long time.

Waterbox got back to me and said there should be no concerns about the tank so that makes me feel better. It is up and running now and so far I haven’t flooded my living room so hopefully that continues.
