HELP: ESHOPPS rectangular filter cup as a refugium in AIO

I have a question regarding this ESHOPPS rectangular filter cup. My plan was to originally use this as a refugium in my IM SR80 tank in the 2nd compartment however I have now purchased this cup and I thought I measured things properly but it turns out I didn't. Now when this cup fits into my AIO its kind of sitting on the baffle that touches the filter sock but doesn't touch the lower end of the baffle on my AIO. I was wondering if this is fine still as a mini refugium here are some pictures.
