Help!! Hammer splitting???

Well all my hammers are opening fine and enjoying life. Except this one dude, who decided to shrink up the bast few days. Tonight I found his mouth super inflated and I got a bit worried. Is he doing the splits? Or just ticked off with me?

Could be splitting. It’s a long process where they do turn oval and then close off to two. I don’t have a hammer but do a frog spawn so might be different but I’d say splitting.
