I need your help! I'm not sure how but I have glass anemones on 2 of my rocks. The little heathens are spreading like wild fire and I dipped them which did absolutely nothing. My lfs is currently out of aiptasia medication so I am scrambling for a solution. Im honestly contemplating throwing the rocks out because I do not want these things in my tanks. Any advice is desperately needed and invited!!

Aptasia x from red sea and some peppermint shrimp for any small one that pop up worked for me. It takes a few treatments but it works.

Don't panic! The first step is to take a step back and breathe. Aiptasia have a defense mechanism where they will release spores to reproduce when they feel threatened. So, the more you mess with them, the more spores they release and the more aiptasia that grow. I would consider getting peppermint shrimp or even berghia nudibranches. However, the berghia only eat aiptasia.

Im just freaking out because ive never had any problems with it and have had it over three years. I haven't even introduced anything in forever almost as if they appeared out of thin air. How many peppermint shrimp would you recommend?

Definitely the shrimp, I'd say maybe 5 depending on how much rockwork you have for the to hide in. Give them some time to take care of it, and they will go for it. Ours actually took a week or two to show interest in the nems, despite feeding on meaty foods readily, but then they annihilated them. Good luck and as aforementioned, don't panic.
