SO i got this from someone breaking his tank down. Coral appear yellow, with pink and some red and blue on the tips, what amazed me is when i touched it to mount it, it has tiny spikes on them like Porcupine. I dont know what that is. Thanks for the help.

It looks like a Kenya tree at first glance, but based on your description with the colors and spikes, probably something of the nepthea family.

Some are nps, but this seems to be a photosynthetic kind.

Thank you! I wish I could have a definite name.

Aside from a key popular species like the Koji Wada pink nephthea species, most will just call it as "Nephthea" as there are no common aquarium names for it.

The best you can probably do is look up Nephthea on Google and find one that looks like yours and see if you can pinpoint an answer.

It's hard to id corals with photos, especially softies like nephthea.

Also would help to know how much you paid for it. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

If it was 80+ for nephthea, could be a rarer one like Koji wada

Nephthea is a genus, not a family; Nephtheidae is the family. Also, Nephthea is a synonym of Lithophyton.
